I still use MSVC 1.52C as a tool for 16-bit DOS programming and, on occasion, some Windows programming. It's an easy tool to install and use and I can develop either in DOS or in Windows. I believe that this is the very last version of Microsoft's C/C++ compiler tools that still support 16-bit code generation and I've been told that although it's no longer included in any of the MSDN distributions, that subscribers to MSDN can make a special request to get the old CD at no charge. But that could be wrong, as it has been years since staff at Microsoft told me this when I asked why it wasn't included in my MDSN disk set. I own my own legal copy of this program development system, both as a purchaser of the earlier Microsoft C compilers many years ago and as a purchaser of MSDN for a number of years. CAlthough I've been learning and using C since 1978, when I first started seriously using it in conjunction with Unix V6 and also first picked up my copy of "The C Programming Language," I don't yet have a lot to say about it here (due to time limits.) So this page is currently a place-holder so that I can link in various tools, as I have time. One link, so far -- to an equation tool.
